A staff member from Ja rule and Billy McFarlandit missed Fire festival, who left hundreds of rich Instagram influencers stranded on a Caribbean island with wild dogs and limited food and water supplies, denounced the rapper in a hilarious blog post, saying the festival was still meant to be shit and the organizers would must have known better.
Write for The cup, Chloe gordon says she was offered a talent producer job for Fyre Fest earlier this year – she had never heard of it and had no idea what it was, but the job was “extremely good paid ”and allowed him to go to Bahamas, so she took it, as any reasonable person probably would.
She knew something was up the minute she arrived at the festival site for the first time – expecting to see a chic island retreat fit for millionaires, she found a “gravel-covered development plot with some scattered tractors, “with limited space for building the promised tents and stages, and a sandfly infestation.
Gordon quickly realized that “nothing had been done” in terms of logistics for the festival, which was by then less than two months away. There was no working internet connection, the equipment had not yet been arranged for the event, the vendors had not yet been hired, transportation had not yet been arranged and the artists were impatient to be paid.
It was estimated that it took an additional $ 50 million to run the festival as advertised, and things were going so bad that some staff apparently wanted to keep everything until 2018, but Gordon says the marketing team told them “Just do it and be legends, man.”
Ja Rule showed up for a “site visit” at one point, but reportedly spent most of it on a nearby yacht, taking snaps for Instagram. Then comes the kicker:
“At this point it was pretty clear this was a mess and I shared my concerns with the man I was reporting to. But he assured me that Fyre’s rulers were legitimate, and said a member of the upper class was behind it. The budget was approved and we were told to continue with our planning. That night Ja Rule toasted. “To live like movie stars, party like rock stars and fuck like porn stars.” If Ja Rule is being punished for anything, maybe it should be it.
Gordon says she stepped down soon after when asked if she would take a pay cut, but says she watched with “delicious pleasure” the day before when it was all over. completely collapsed. You can read his scathing demolition of the “brothers” behind the festival here, and you should, because it’s one hell of a wild ride.
